Something happening in the studio this week... there was a leak in one of the pipes upstairs, so the construction crew came in and built a rudimentary scaffolding just above the entry. I had to move everything aside and cover it with canvas. The scaffolding looks haphazardly done, but it is actually quite stable and it grew on me in the last few days.
Have a good weekend everyone.

ken isaacs on 'living structures'
For those who are interested in building a "living structure," Ken Isaacs' How To Build Your Own Living Structures explains how to build a modular microhouse based on stacked tetrahedrons. I really love the way this book is written; his convivial photographs and technical illustrations are wonderful. Check out the PDF version here.

bees and peas
Peas are almost ready for harvest. There is also a bee box in the old chicken coop. We're heading to Los Angeles and Joshua Tree this weekend. Happy Friday everyone!

tomatoes and cactus
We've pretty much harvested most of the dinosaur kale, chard and spinach at the community garden. All that is left are the onions, garlic and sweet peas. Ada and I bought more vegetables today; four different varieties of tomatoes and a cactus for the studio.

clothes pins
Drying a few things by the window. Back to shooting with a 50mm.
I'm working on a conceptual project, possibly using an Arduino... to be deployed somewhere in Joshua Tree. It will require a bit of tinkering with some study models. I will be posting process photos soon.
